Forney 71991 Blue Zirconia Flap Disc, Type 29, 36-grit, 4-in.

The Forney 71991 is a blue zirconia flap disc designed for grinding and finishing on metal surfaces. Type 29 flap discs feature a depressed center profile for use with right angle grinders, making them suitable for metal fabrication, welding cleanup, surface preparation, and general grinding applications. The 36-grit medium abrasive provides aggressive cutting action for stock removal and fine finishing work.

Blue zirconia is a premium abrasive material that cuts faster and lasts significantly longer than conventional sanding discs—outlasting them by up to 10 times. The disc's construction with multiple overlapping layers of zirconia-coated cloth flaps continuously exposes fresh, sharp grinding points as the outer layers wear. This design maintains consistent performance throughout the disc's life and allows great flexibility for both rough and fine finishing tasks.
